Political undertones dominated a funeral service in Aldai attended by the top contenders for the Nandi gubernatorial seat.

Former Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey took a swipe at Former Agriculture Minister Felix Koskei terming as ‘stupid’ utterances that he had lost a vote through the passage of Rebecca Chepkazi, the mother of Dr. Sally Kosgey, who was being laid to rest.

While giving his message of condolence to Dr. Kosgey’s family for the loss of their mother, Former CS Koskei remarked that the late Rebecca would have voted for him in the coming elections and that due to her demise he had lost one vote.

“I know the late gogo would have voted for me in the coming elections and unfortunately I have lost a vote through her demise,”said Koskei.

However when he took to the stage, the Former Tinderet MP hit out at Koskei for his remarks saying it was stupid for him to view the loss in terms of votes.

“To lose a mother is not a joke and therefore to say you have lost a vote is stupid,”said Kosgey.

The funeral service was also attended by other top contenders for the gubernatorial seat including the incumbent Governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat and Nandi Senator Stephen Sang.
