Nandi County Senator has heaped praises on Former Cabinet Minister Dr Sally Kosgey lauding her for her sterling perfomance both in political and civil service.

Speaking during the funeral service of Rebbeca Chepkazi, the mother of Dr. Kosgey, Senator Sang observed that the greatest gift the late Rebecca had given Nandi county a greatest gift in Dr. kosgey, who performed her duties with distinction.

“From the late Rebecca we got a gift of a leader in Aldai and also Kenya got a gift of a fine civil servant and a polished diplomat in Dr. Kosgey,”said Sang amid cheers from the residents.

Senator Sang said Dr. Sally Kosgey was instrumental in the tarmacking of Kipsigak-Kobujoi-Serem-Shamakhoko road and that despite Aldai constituency having been marginalized in terms of development the region opened up when she was the area MP.

“When you go anywhere in the country and mention Aldai it is synonymous with the name Sally Kosgey. You have made us proud,”Sang added.

The lawmaker said as leaders from the region they still need Dr. Sally’s advise and input in the leadership of Nandi county.

He recalled that in 2013, Dr. Kosgey had put forward the interest of Aldai residents and backed his senatorial bid despite being in a different political affliation.

There has been pressure from Aldai residents for Dr. Kosgey to run for the parliamentary seat.

Kabwareng ward MCA Jackson Swadi Kedogo had set the political mood during the funeral service by urging Dr. Kosgey to throw her hart in the ring and contest for the Aldai MP seat.

The MCA cracked the crowd when he said there was a huge public demand for Dr. Kosgey to be on the ballot in the coming general elections.

Though Dr. Kosgey kept off politics she noted that she appreciated that some leaders and residents recognise her examplary leadership.

Also in attendance during the burial service were Nandi Governor Dr. Cleophas Lagat, Former Industrialization Minister Henry Kosgey,Former Education Minister Prof. Margaret Kamar, Former Agriculture CS Felix Koskei, Nandi Women Rep Zipporah Kering and Aldai MP Cornelly Serem, who also commended Dr. Sally Kosgey for her visible development record.
